  • 1. Chung-Ang University's Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film is the best graduate school in the field of Visual and Imaging Arts in Korea
    • GSAIM is a graduate school specializing in Visual and Imaging Arts that has been awarded the Ministry of Education's "BK 21 Project" four times since 1999, and is an institution that fosters global creative content and A.I.-content professionals with convergent thinking, creative problem-solving, and global communication skills. In particular, the A.I.-content curriculum, which has been intensively developed over the past five years, aims to fuse traditional video content with A.I. technology to foster professionals who can respond to various opportunity factors such as changing trends in the new media era and increasing demand in convergence industries. To this end, the following "three curricula" are combined to foster "creative convergence talents" who combine artistic sensitivity and technology.
      • 1. CAST Curriculum (Contents, Arts, Science, Technology): A specialized curriculum to cultivate artificial intelligence and content specialists who combine arts and engineering, along with creative skills and content-based entrepreneurship knowledge.
      • 2. TEAM Curriculum (Tune Across Engine, AI and Media): Interdisciplinary convergence project course in AI-based art and engineering
      • 3. Startup Curriculum: A curriculum for fostering AI and content-related startup talents based on industry-academia collaboration programs, education on how to manage content IP and how to register related patents, and courses on policies and operations related to startups
  • 2. The goal of GSAIM is to improve the quality of education and research, globalization, and industrialization to foster AI and content professionals.
  • 3. Competencies of the GSAIM
    • In 1999, the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film was selected as one of the specialized graduate schools in the "Phase 1 BK21 Project" with the goal of creating a "Cyber Hollywood" that combines art and technology. The integrated education and research model combining art and engineering, which was the first of its kind in Korea at the time, became a benchmark internationally, and was selected as the best project in the specialized field in 2004.
    • As part of its development and establishment phase, this project group established an integrated industry-academia-research collaboration system in 2006. It was selected for the Phase 2 BK21 project in the design and imaging fields, aiming to produce Korean-style digital video content and train professionals. During the seven-year project period, it was selected as the best project group in the video field, and in the "BK21PLUS Project, Stage 3," a number of detailed majors settled in the second stage were reorganized into an in-depth course for all public stations and a specialized course for convergence. In recognition of the performance of these excellent project groups, the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film was also selected as the only domestic vocational graduate school to be selected for the "4th Stage BK21+ Project".
    • In addition, "A Coloquium board" will be installed at all times in an open space within Chung-Ang University to freely derive problems for participating students and professors, and the project team selected by appropriate evaluation will carry out a project to solve the problem during the seasonal semester. The results operate as a digital archive at the same time as the disclosure of the physical workspace, sharing its contents with all students as well as domestic and foreign universities and the world.
